@SandyGrason – Fabulous Women – Case Studies

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Sandy Grason I love hearing stories of other people’s successes… partly because it’s always inspiring to see people doing well, but mostly because there’s ALWAYS something that I can learn from them.

A few months ago I had the good fortune of participating in Sandy Grason’s Fabulous Formula. I learned about her concept of the Empire Chart which really shifted how I look at my business, and gave me one of my biggest inspirations for all my Get it Done programs.

She’s releasing a series of Case Studies  which are detailed, in-depth video reports on people (myself included) who have done very well for themselves using her Fabulous Formula — including exactly what they did that made their business breakthroughs so successful.

I highly recommend taking a look at her free videos.

Also, please join us for our Virtual Cocktail Party where Sandy will be sharing all about her Empire Chart model.

The Fabulous Formula – The Building of an Empire

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

SandyGrason There are times in your life when someone special shows up and you have that inner knowing feeling that they’re meant to be there for a bigger reason. That was exactly how I felt when I met Sandy Grason for the first time in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. As someone who picks up on other people’s energy, I felt a strong connection immediately. We were together as part of a group of entrepreneurial moms collaborating on something bigger than ourselves, and the spirit of abundance was incredibly prevalent in the room.

In sharing what she was working on, and the gifts that she could bring to our group, the one word that stood out for me was “empire”.  For some reason, the word empire has always intrigued me from a business perspective. Not in a Martha Stewart kind of way, but in a way that feels limitless, and feminine and full of choices and possibilities. (As a side note, when my NY lawyer father helped me to incorporate my company, he advised that if I planned on having an empire, (a very unusual word for him to use in describing my entrepreneurial pursuits) I should incorporate in Delaware. The word just felt right, and that’s what I did.)

As Sandy spoke more, I got the gist that she takes women through a fun process to create their empire. I definitely wanted to learn more, and I tuned into her artfully-created video entitled The Jerry Maguire Manifesto (which is a must-see). She asks the important question:

Why do you have to either do the work you love with your heart & soul and struggle with the money part or go so deeply into the marketing of your business that you feel like a used car salesman willing to do anything for a buck?

The answer is: You don’t. You can have the Coin and the Kwan (love). You CAN be recognized for your passion and your purpose. You can create an empire that works for you.

Before I conceived of Metromom, I was very clear that I love to connect with other women. This is a joyful experience for me, and I do it effortlessly. IMAGINE… if I could create a business where I get to connect great women to each other, provide them with lots of value, make a great income for my family AND give back in a really big way. In my first year of business, this was my vision and I moved forward on this path.

As I embark on year two, I realize, I’m being called forth to figure out my next step, and expand and deepen the work that I’m doing. One idea I feel compelled to finally share (even though I don’t  know how it will happen)  is that I am meant to  help 12 amazing women take their brilliance and passion, and get it out there in a bigger way so they can dramatically change people’s lives. (Who are these 12 women? I don’t know yet, but I trust they’ll show up perfectly, and imagining them brings up delightful visions for me of being in a candy store.)

The timing of my meeting Sandy is serendipity and synchronicity all rolled into one. With her new program, The Fabulous Formula, that I am just thrilled to begin, she will share (with me and a group of other amazing women) a new way of experiencing your business, of creating wealth, and of BEING. She will focus on getting clear about your biggest vision and going after it. And focusing on who you are when you’re at your greatest.

The other important question Sandy asked is “who’s coming with me?” I immediately raised my hand, signing on to participate in The Fabulous Formula with her. The question I offer to you is: would you like to join us? If this speaks to you, I’d love nothing more than for you to join me on this empire-building journey. Please visit her site to learn more. I’d also love to hear your comments about your own dreams for your own empire.

The Magic that Happens When Women Entrepreneurs Collaborate

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Earlier this year I hit some pretty low points after my husband had lost his job. Not only was I anxious about our situation, I was watching many other mom entrepreneurs come onto the scene with their own websites and communities. My first reaction was to go to a place of scarcity. I had this awful limiting belief that if they existed, and were doing business, that there wouldn’t be enough left over for me.

It sounds crazy when I write it, but it felt incredibly real and scary in that moment. I did know two things at that time. First, I knew I wasn’t ready to throw in the towel. Second, I knew that to do business in a way that was fun for me, and to stick around, I would have to just focus on doing business in a “Kim” way, and show up as authentically as possible. Some would be attracted to me and follow me, and others wouldn’t. I trusted it would all be fine.

Around the same time, I felt drawn to connect with a particular mom entrepreneur with her own community, Carla Young of MOMeo. On the surface, one would think “competitor” in the yucky sense of the word. But what I sensed from observing her on Twitter was a kind, funny, open woman. I was blessed to discover that she’s even more wonderful.

We joked back in March that it’d be great to get some amazing mom entrepreneurs together in Las Vegas in June. Sounded fun I thought, but we didn’t pursue it. Fast forward to April, and Carla was scheduling me to speak with her MOMeo community about how I get things done so quickly. She asked, “When are you free in June?” I told her the only days I wasn’t when I’d be in Las Vegas attending Baeth’s Life Purpose Spiritual Summit. Carla laughed and said she’d be in Las Vegas that very same weekend!

clip_image002We decided to make that gathering of great entrepreneurial women come together. As a connector, I immediately got to work inviting some women I wanted to meet and who I believed would be interested in creating something bigger as a group than any of us could on our own.  Much to my surprise, nine of us ended up coming together – Alexis Martin Neely, Carla Young, Sarah Robinson, Jennifer Haubein, Sandy Grason, Kim Castle, MaryPat Kavanagh, Dorcy Russell and me!

Each of us shared what we could offer (our true creative brilliance and what’s fun for us to do) as well as the support we’d love from the rest of the group. Getting behind each of these women to support their product and service launches feels great. I’m not sure where it will all go but I have lots of faith. I’m so blessed that I could connect with them and them together and bring them into my life.

Please share your comments on how you’ve benefited by turning your “competitors” into “collaborators”. This is an area were women entrepreneurs really shine!
