[...] I made the decision a few weeks ago to stop promoting a program that I’d planned because my energy and my intentions were not coming from a place of integrity, So after crawling into bed, re-reading Bob Burg’s The Go-Giver (and reminding myself that I’m in business to provide value) I switched gears and in a matter of two weeks set off on a whole new direction that felt right and much more “on purpose.” (You can listen to more of my story on a recent call with Lisa Cherney where we spoke about the Dark Side of Entrepreneurship).
Kim,

I have to thank you so much for this call. It was just what I needed. Both you and Lisa's transparency touched me and encouraged me. You put the words and description to what woman trying to break into online businesses go thru. The realness of the dark nights we go thru and that it is a normal part of the process. Break down to Break thru.

This call and conversation was a touch on my shoulder from the Divine. Thank you for getting out of bed and moving forward. I just want to encourage you. Your message and work are greatly appreciated.

I have been a bank teller.........this is better ;)

Have a Blessed Day !

Katrina

Hi Theresa,

You write so beautifully and emotionally. Thank you for your post. I'm really glad you found our call helpful, it was so important for me to let other women know that they're not alone on their entrepreneurial journey.

By nature being an entrepreneur can be very isolating and it's really important to find those you connect with to be able to speak candidly and ask for help. I'm so glad to hear that you're doing your mindset work. No matter what your brilliant business idea is – if your head’s getting in the way, it’s really hard to move forward.

I’d love to speak further with you about what you’re going through. Please contact me if you’d like to speak.

Take care,
Kim

This is a revolutionary, revealing and inspiring audio. I needed to hear this now. I am in this place and have done all of these things and my mindset is currently "if I get a call for an interview for a 'real job', I'm keeping myself open". Ugh. So not what I want to do with my life. The coffee shop was looking like a great option.

I love the message that if I am open and aware of what is happening, I can make a choice to do something and not give in to my feelings of inadequecy, incompetency, or compromising my integrity. You echo my thoughts. And it doesn't mean that I have to pretend that all is perfect and if I show any signs of 'the dark side' that I am not meant to be an entrepreneur. I recently got a 'virtual hand slap' when I posted something of truth on a social site. I simply said I would love help with ideas for marketing - as this is something I feel is not working for me. The comment was met with a response that left me stunned and I felt completely worthless. The person said "you have an MBA and pose as a marketing manager - you better watch what you say or people will never use your services. Don't ever share you need help with something you should be the expert at". Maybe she was right. Maybe I should not have shared. My next thoughts were 'maybe I am not good at marketing'.

The 'whats' I am tolerating in my business include my struggle to share my services and be confident in my abilities. The same as you, Kim - I questioned - am I providing something of value? I want to do the work that I love. Does that mean it is something the world needs? Or am I just another aspiring 'actor'?

Maybe its the shift from big business to entrepreneur. Maybe its the pervasive fear of financial security. Maybe its my fear of spending anything to free myself up to create the business as I see it. I'm still afraid to ask for help because of the cost. Maybe tomorrow . . .

I hope this will pass. I am working with a program on mindset and putting positive thoughts out there. I am evaluating my circle of influence, and realizing I need to change it. I am living in hopeful anticipation of what will be when I emerge on the other side.

This has been extremely helpful. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

Hi Julie,
I know that sense of relief when you realize that you're not alone in all that you're going through. If you're particularly touched by the idea of being of service you will love Bob Burg's book 'The Go-Giver", it's one of my favorites.
For me asking for help has never been one of my strengths. I am blessed to be connected to great women and I do reach out to select ones when I need support. You are welcome to reach out to the Metromom community if that speaks to you - http://metromom.com/gid.
I'd love to hear what you discover that you are tolerating.
Take care,
Kim

Hi Kim - - Reading your e-mail and seeing talk about "The Dark Side of Entrepreneurship" touched something in me and I have just spent the last hour listening to you and Lisa. I feel a sense of relief after listening to it that I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE who has gone through this, or for me right now, is going through this. I loved your closing sentence that we are all here to serve. That is so true. And yes, we can pay the bills and go on vacations while we are doing this. I guess my one question I still have when you and Lisa say "ask for help" is where do I go to ask for this help. I love the whole concept of figuring out "what I am tolerating". that's going to be on my thinking list today.

this has really been a helpful audio and thank you for bringing it to us.
