Entrepreneurial Moms – Is Perfectionism Holding You Back? [Metromom Podcast]

I’m a recovering perfectionist. But I know in my past, my quest for perfection kept me from moving forward, so I’ve had to tame it. I also know it’s not an easy beast to tame, but if you’re like me and can honestly acknowledge how much your desire for perfection is holding you back, it can often give you the motivation to just move forward and take action. I want to share with you how to do just that -let go of your desire to be perfect and get your brilliance out into the world.

  • Shannon - for us recovering perfectionists it really is a daily practice to remind ourselves to keep taking imperfect action. The momentum is so much more important than the actual perfection.
    Take care,

  • Hey, Kim,

As a recovering perfectionist myself, I totally agree with your message. While perfection is unattainable (and subjective), excellence is certainly attainable and desireable. This is what I strive for but with a much loser rein upon which I used to hold my perfectionist expectations, i.e. like you said, lest we want to wait forever, sometimes we have to just take a leap of faith and trust all things of significance will fall into place as needed. :-)

    Talk to you this afternoon!

    Keep it real!
    Shannon
