  • Hi Kim,
I'm kicking myself for not checking my email yesterday! I wanted to leave a comment anyways as I think what you're doing is awesome. If I could have entered on time I would have said that having some help re-launching my business would have been fantastic. I'm a coach. A really great coach and had no idea how much of the other "stuff" I'd need to learn to have a thriving prosperous business (marketing, writing copy, creating products, etc.). For the last two years I've been reading, learning, and experimenting but it's basically me spinning my wheels and I'm sick of it. I also feel strapped for time as I have a 2 yr old and a 5 month old and as much as I'm following my dream of being an entrepreneur and keeping my family/kids a priority I'm not making the $$$ that I'd like to and know I can. I'll continue to follow your blog to see what you're offering in the future!

    Thanks.

  • I have been in Atlanta for 24 long years and hating almost every minute of it. I was brought here by an ex-boyfriend, and I stayed despite the fact that I didn't choose it nor ever really liked it. I have been talking about leaving ever since I got here. In the last several years I have been talking about moving to New Orleans, Los Angeles and Hawaii. All of the places would be wonderful and being an entertainer feel that I could work in my profession. Atlanta has died as far as culture and entertainment are concerned and feel that the other cities would be a better success for me.

My getting "stuck" here has been blamed on relationships, my work load, the house that I bought and now clutter within all of that. I would like to clean out my house and my life and be happy in a city of my choosing. This year has been procrastinating with more socializing and my business has been suffering, as well as my psyche.

I have been an entertainer all of my life and have been in business full time for 15 years. My skills include clowning, mime, bellydance and other dance forms, fire eating, fortune telling, face/body painting, balloon sculpting, henna, snake handling, singing telegrams, living statues etc. I also hire other entertainers for events as well. I would love a chance to really move in my life and I look forward to the day that I can finally achieve my dream.

    Hi, Kim:

Just found out about you and this program. I know I've just missed the deadline. Unfortunately, I'm currently unemployed so the program isn't possible at this time but I'm wondering...will you be offering this program again or something similar to it in the not too distant future?

I've been exposed to a LOT of programs but nothing quite like yours. Even though I'm not a 'mom', I love your energy and the way you get things done!

    Best wishes for continued success!
    Debbie
  • Hi Kim,
I must be honest I have not deleted your emails, but I read through to find direction. Most network marketing emails I have delete but you are among the few I have kept...I have listened to you maybe once or twice in the past and your a real person-someone I liked....I have been in my company for almost 2 years and lately I have been very discouraged. My upline dropped out and the current founding consultant/top earner doesn't have the time for me-it's as if she doesn't believe in me. I wonder sometimes if I believe in myself and if this direct sales stuff is worth the effort. I have sensed that I am called to this position/leadership but how do you lead if the leader isn't growing her own company. I will often get on line and focus on answering emails and linkedIn/facebook and then the day is gone with nothing accomplished. I truly would like to make this business work! I have 4 children and a husband my "get it done" is easy to do for them because I know what I'm doing but my business is slowly moving...Signed Please HELP ME GET IT DONE!
  • Hi Kim,

God bless you and thanks for allowing me to participate in your challenge. I am so grateful to have run across your site.

    1. What do I want to get done?

I would like to be able to serve clients and present myself as a leader always with following through and being the professional God has created me to be. I have specific goals to reach within my business and I sometimes listen to too much self talk and it slows me down. My desire is to empower and inspire women to step into their greatness and I want to be able to show results that I have been there myself.

    2. Why have I been having trouble getting it done?

I haven't been able to get things done because of old habits and energy pulling obstacles in my way. I would like to first get organized and knock down the avalanche that I have built in my office that keeps my mind cluttered and important things hidden. I believe you have to be able to see where you are going and create a vision board too.

    3. How will it transform my business and or life to get it done?
It will transform my life and business by getting it done by me being transparent to others challenged in this area. It will transform me from a caterpillar to a butterfly because I will move from a Procrastinator to a Producer. It will transform my life and business because women will know and believe that they can overcome just like me. I will be able to set goals using systems that save me time, energy and money.

    Brief description of my business:
I am a Certified Compass Coach with a personal development company created to improving the lives of women. We believe every woman deserves to live the life she was meant to live. We know that everyone of us has the desire and ability to create that life. I am in business to help women claim it because the life of their dreams in in reach. Our company combines 4 of the fastest growing global trends such as Network marketing, Social Networking, Personal Wellness/Self Improvement and Professional Coaching. We believe that everyone deserves a coach and we offer affordable group coaching. www.compassinspiresallwomen.co... Thank you.
  • Wow Kim. One thousand times- wow! Look at all of the beautiful lives you are serving and enabling to effectively pursue their dreams. People like you, who bring forward their gifts in mighty ways, are the fuel for my personal mission: to simply encourage others. Awesome job lady!
There are so many awesome people doing awesome things, and I think this fact is noteworthy.
Your example alone is an encouragement to countless women who can see themselves in you. And believe this can be true for each of us. We each have unique gifts, talents and abilities that can be an encouragement to someone else.
So this idea is the basis of my vision: to encourage people through highlighting the greatness in others. Yet the magnitude of this intention, received several years ago, has overwhelmed me from day one. In short, I have made steps towards bringing this forward and feel literally paralyzed by its scope.
WHAT I would like to get done is: 1) chunk down and adapt this long term not-for-profit vision into a viable coaching business online, 2) complete a success training program that I have been developing, 3) manage an effective business coaching service to equip and encourage people to pursue their dreams, 4) support clients and other entrepreneurs in their endeavors, 5) take the outsourcing plunge and get help with technical and administrative aspects of my business, 6) and effectively navigate the ins and outs of internet marketing. AND… AND…. AND… the list goes on and on.

WHY- The reason why I am having trouble getting all of this done is because I have a *good* new idea every second. I can see the big picture and have trouble working backwards to complete the details which will contribute to what I see. I work on a little bit of everything and never quite complete anything. I have ton of good work that is 90% complete, but that 100% eludes me. I have the perfectionist syndrome that you speak of and I need help moving beyond it.
HOW- Getting it gone will transform my life in such a profound way that I am humbled to think of that reality. Firstly, it will give rise to my heartfelt and authentic desire to simply encourage people. I think (know) that we are awesome and the very nature of being human says that we can accomplish anything we put our minds too. We are limitless potential and I sooo long for the day when these truths have expression through me. Having a viable business will be great, monetizing it will be sweet, yet knowing that I can contribute to the lives of others will be full on outstanding.
Your program is a must have for anyone wishing to realize their dreams. I would greatly appreciate your help in getting out all of this good stuff… so I can help others get out their good stuff too. I wish you every success in all that you endeavor. I thank you for this opportunity to share in this challenge. Kim, truly- awesome job!
  • Elizabeth
What I need to get done is the creation of my new subscription program.

Specifically, sitting down and putting the plans on paper, making a proper, organized plan for what to do first, etc. and then following through to implement it.

I know I have two main challenges in doing this.

First, it seems overwhelming because it covers a lot of different things, like updating my web site, promoting it through social media, creating the new classes, etc. I try to "chunk it down" into small steps but it's still overwhelming.

Second, the emotional blockage, which is probably the biggie. I KNOW I'm prograstinating due to fear of putting myself out there, etc. but can't seem to stop myself. It's ironic because I'm great at helping everyone else move forward. Physician, heal thyself. :-)

Even though my goal is specific and measurable, I'm tripping myself up.

I function MUCH better when I have deadlines and am accountable to people but doing it with a friend hasn't really worked. Something like this -- winning a slot in your program -- is the perfect motivation because there is no way in hell I would waste the opportunity. In this situation, a combination of fear and embarrassment would be a great motivator. :-)

    Thank you for the opportunity.
  • Hi Kim,

We met (briefly) at B.O.S.S. in October. Wasn't it a fun time?

As you may know, I was blessed to have been a caregiver for my father for over 4 years. I did not always consider it a blessing because of the struggles, the loneliness, the frustration and fatigue, but as I researched his diseases more (dementia, heart failure, neuropathy), I began to understand HIS frustrations and to be able to be a more effective and happier caregiver. He recently passed away and while I am now free to return to my "former life", what I wish to do is to help other caregivers have a good experience in their caregiving role - because there is a LOT of good in caring for another human being. So I established The Eldercare Support Group (http://www.theeldercaresupport...)

What I want to accomplish is to have a full-fledged membership site where caregivers and their families can come to find information, encouragement and to be able to share experiences with other caregivers. I want to have products to sell that are uniquely mine which will benefit other caregivers. I have a couple of products but product creation seems difficult for me...possibly I'm too much of a perfectionist.

I'm having trouble getting this all done because everything seems to jam up in my head and I become overwhelmed. When I get close to the computer, my mind becomes a complete fog and I'm off in 75 different directions ! I have a to-do list, but it get buried under stacks of "this and that" !

To accomplish this goal and have a site that creates enough income so that I don't have to go back to work in a hospital setting is EVERYTHING. I have been a nurse for 30 years; I don't like the way nursing is heading; I don't believe that the hospital is a safe place for elders because nurses do not have the time nor the current education to care for them. Caregivers need to be armed with enough education to keep their aging parents or loved ones safe when a hospital admission is necessary............and hospital personnel need to be educated, as well.
I have a lot of work ahead of me but if I can improve the lives of our aging population or their caregivers, then I will have accomplished my goal.
  • 1)I would like to complete my E-Pregnancy Coaching Program.

2)I've been having trouble with completion because I get pulled in too many directions and it's hard to stay motivated.

3)It will transform my business and my life by becoming my signature program, which currently doesn't exist anywhere else and it will help millions of people have more empowering birth and parenting experiences. It's the first big step toward reaching my life purpose.

4)I am a coach, childbirth educator, doula and have been in business for about 4 years. The past year I have gotten more serious about my business and what I am here to create. My website which is currently being re-created is http://www.thepregnancycoach.c....

    Thank you for this opportunity!
  • Hello Kim!
I am excited!! Why am I excited? Because I believe deep in my soul that you will pick me and I will be apart of this amazing opportunity that will transform my life and the lives of others!
What I want to get done~
I want to get Harmonic Life & Style Coaching out in the spotlight! I want to Help people create a harmonic melody out of their lives!! I want to put together a workshop/tele class teaching people how to use a Harmonic Life map that I have created. I Believe using my Harmonic Life map will keep you dancing in the rhythm of life! I would LOVE to launch this program in January, getting peeps off to start the new year with a new perspective on their WHOLE life. Really, want I am out to do is save the world, and I got my cape on :)
Why have I had trouble getting it done~
Hmmm.... Well with 3 kiddies (12,10,8) anything I try to do for ME is a challenge! I would say that I have not had any structure, no set schedule to get it done. Also seemed to get very overwhelmed with the HOW! The stress of learning Facebook, Twitter and trying to get my website to be what I envision it to be can seem like such an overwhelming task. I need a team, a team of people with expertise in different areas. I have been going at it all alone and I think having a team would take me to places I have dreamed of :)
How will it transform my life if I get it done~
I will feel empowered!! I will have the courage and confidence to create more programs and whatever else my soul is needing to express. To be apart of a community of woman entrepreneurs coming together to empower each other to be the best they can be is an energy force that I want to be in!
Energetically, this is the best platform to work from!
    PLEASE PICK ME !
    ~Live Fully~

First of all...a contest to get something of INCREDIBLE value for free?!!! I'm in. But therein lies my problem...

Signing a blog with juicy details of what I'm not doing is easy compared to actually getting to work and accomplishing my dreams. It's not that I'm lazy (far from it!) but somehow "easy" equates to "oh, I know how to do that", therefore I do the easy thing...which is nothing!

WHAT I would like to get done...
is start a business that reflects my God-given gift for social intelligence and natural leadership and my creative drive to influence others. I have no idea of what that business model looks like! The buzzword these days is a coach or trainer - but I've gotten trapped by that thinking that if you don't have a certain string of letters after your name, well don't do it. And what's with all this internet marketing stuff - there wasn't an Internet in my dream!

While I've had a successful 2 years at representing an up and coming MLM business, my main passion has always been the speaking and training part of my business. People approach me at the end of meetings and rave about my passion and outreach and I know I'm in my element when I'm speaking. But in the past 2 months I've realized that there are so many people I'd like to reach out and "train" that may not ever be interested in my MLM product or business, thereby not ever experiencing my gifts. So what does that mean...do I need a website of my own, do I need further education, do I need a blog, do I need an assistant?! I definitely don't want a free-guest-speaker-hobby-business, so I want a profitable business that establishes myself as a brand and a service to others.

WHY have you been having trouble getting it done:
Somewhere between college and being a mom of 4 I bought into that false programming that if you don't know exactly want you want to be, then just be a mom. The fact is, however, that I never wanted to be JUST a SAHM. It drives me crazy! I've just recently accepted the term "entrepreneur"; I thought for years I was just restless. Fear and perfectionism are the main drivers that keep me from moving forward, as well as a complete and total body-takeover of Information Overload. I've been on tons of free calls, webinars, you name it, just soaking it all in, but I'm left with a bunch of facts and no gameplan of how to make those facts work for me. What do all these new marketing terms mean for me??? I've also gotten myself stuck in some false thinking that what I want to do is "copy" someone, as if what it is I want to accomplish has already been "taken" by someone else or something stupid like that! Because I don't know how to establish my Unique Selling Position, I do nothing.

HOW will it transform my life:
Are you kidding me?! I'd be free from an unwanted "gray area" of doubt, undecisiveness and lack of action. The fact is, I'm a go-for-it-girl, but I'm not walking the talk! More importantly, I'd be obedient in my walk with God...he's been chasing me lately. Agressively chasing me with creative brainstorms and the desire to do what comes natural for me - and stand up as a financial contributor to my family who got bit by the Corporate Layoff bug. My husband was earning a solid 6 figures a year ago, but still hasn't found a job; so while's he's having panic attacks, I'm having creative-energy attacks. I feel more alive and more joy than I ever have, despite our financial crisis...therefore, it's TIME TO GET IT DONE.
  • Kathleen
What do you want to get done: I would like to re-launch my businesses: As a Close To My Heart Consultant, where I teach others scrapbooking, cardmaking, stamping and papercrafts. Also sell the supplies for each of these. Cakes By Kathy where I provide the perfect cake for your special occasion. My specialty being Wedding cakes.

Why you have been having trouble getting it done: Overwhelmed. Time Management. Fulltime home business where I work both overnight and daytime hours, which I cannot afford to quit or cut back on because I help support my daughter and 2 grandsons who live with me. Two moves in 2 yrs. and still trying to finish setting up office and crafting/baking spaces. Perfectionism. Fear of failure.

How it will transform your business and/or life to get it done: Crafting and baking are my passions! I love to help people celebrate their memories and relationships through the art forms of scrapbooking and cardmaking and to create the most perfect cake for their special occasion. In the last 2 yrs. I have been able to do very little if any creating and it has had a big impact on my life. Financially, as well, as personally. I know that once I accomplish the re-launch, and get my businesses up and running I will be much happier, less stressed, more purposeful and full-filled. My current home business is very stressful, seems to take up all of my time, and is not something I want to do forever. However, it does pay the bills with an immediate pay check that does not have to be put back into the business.

Brief description of your business, how long you've been in business: I started my CTMH business in 2003 and my Cake business in 2004. Both were going strong until Oct. 2007 when several personal issues took over my life and I had to abruptly shut both of them down. About 6 months ago, I decided it was time to get them up and running again, but thus far have made very little progress and only in short sporadic bursts. I feel that being a part of your challenge will enable me "to get it done" and move forward instead of being stalled. Accomplishing this will enhance all other areas of my life, the most important being family, friends and self-worth.

Thank you for providing this contest and the possible opportunity to participate in your challenge, Kathleen

I think this opportunity is a GREAT one. I am writing in because my son and I were able to come up with an idea few months ago. We developed a prototype of the actual item and what it would look like when completed. Now that I have a product, I am unsure of where to go from here. I need help to push myself to next level. I am sure there are others that also have great ideas and no direction as to where to go. Being a single mom of 2 children pushes you in ways you thought would never expect. I know we, as a family, could make this work if the right information was given to us. The information and knowledge is the most valuable assest one could receive. Not the actual idea itself. I am looking for the most priceless assest one could want; An opportunity at what you know.
  • Hi Kim,

Your course sounds exactly like what I need to help with my business but also with my everday life.

    · WHAT you want to get done - I have a big radio campaign to organise with a new website to go with it

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done - I don't know where to start so keep putting it off as it is overwhelming me.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done - It will bring in more qualified customers and hopefully get my business fully self sufficient.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one) - I have been in business about 7 years (on my own but 15+ altogether), I am a Travel Agent and work from home, I have 3 young children that I work around and also do a bit of volunteer work each week. My website is run by my supplier so I have no control over it and am looking at making a website of my own.

    Hi there Kim:

Great idea... and yes WOW, thank you on behalf of everyone you touch

    · WHAT you want to get done:
Create my program... I have the pieces, have the process need to get it organized and down on paper so I can lead the first beta.

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done:
Need to stay focused, keep getting distracted and pulled in all directions... probably too much multitasking, probably working on too many projects.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done:
It is time to lead my program, the personal satisfaction will be immense... I need to get my blessing; gift and contribution out to those who need it and the world beyond; and let's not forget the financial rewards that we as business people need.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one)
I have been a coach for 10years, the past few years helping others find and live their life purpose, this is a new direction for me in the way I deliver to my clients and new information and support that I want to bring to my participants.

Once again thank you Kim, looking forward to hearing from you either way!
  • · WHAT you want to get done?
I want to get my rain hats into national and international distribution. Beginning with the pacific NW, and moving eastward until I get to London, England. My goal is to sell a million hats.

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done?
I think fear and the economy are the biggest obstacles holding me back. Fear of putting myself out there. Overwhelmed with the task at hand given that I am a solo operation. I have mentored many different people, that have had great success. I think I am falling victim to my own skill set of being a great sales manager/cheerleader and forgetting how to get it done in the trenches. This became even more evident when I participated in the "Get it Done" Webinar and walked away more charged up than I have been in years.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done?
2009 has fiscally been the most challenging year since the inception of SoHo Exchange in 2003. I have garnered quite a bit of local publicity for the product, but have had a more difficult time translating that into sales. So "Getting it Done" would mean generating the sales that I know this product and my company are capable of achieving. It would mean creating the financial stability I have envisioned.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one).

  • What? Create an online space for my "offline" customers to enjoy. Bring access to my programs and specials easier and more accessible.
How? Set up a website to provide info they need. I'll have info on the website (member protected) and delivered by email.
Why? Simplify follow-up with my customers, give them access to info they need and simplify my referral system.
Description: I started my business in 2002, then moved to Canada and started again in 2006. My business is thriving which is great, but it's getting harder to communicate with growing number of customers. I started my online biz www.magneticlook.com this year and I love it! I'd like to bring my offline services online too as I find it very accessible and resourceful. I'd like to create a membership model with info on the site as well as delivered by email.
I am very good at implementation and taking action, but sometimes I get stuck not knowing what I should do next. I believe that learning your system might be helpful to me as I'll be able to follow small steps instead of looking at the big picture.
    Pick me ;-)

  • Kim,

What an incredible opportunity you have put together with the "Get It Done" Challenge. Your generosity in this give-away is truly admirable, so thank you!

WHAT do you want to get done: I want to grow my Corporate Etiquette business. (I teach the appropriate ways to interact with others in a professional setting: dining skills, correct introductions, polite conversation skills, handshakes, etc.)

WHY have you been having trouble getting it done: My oh-so unorganized approach and lack of clear direction has been the proverbial ball and chain! So many people approach me about working with their children or their office staff or their students that I find myself flitting from one "niche" to the next. Additionally, I find that my time is spent on things I *think* are beneficial to my business but create absolutely no income. I have a presence in the social media world (facebook, website, twitter) and clearly see the potential benefit of the relationships created there, however, do not know how to monetize or utilize that. Society's level of incivility is a hot media topic right now and I wish I knew how to leverage that.

HOW will it transform your business and/or life to get it done: When I completed my certification and training, I was in total business mode, ie Where can I network first? Where can I find my first sell?, etc. However, after working with people of all ages, seeing them learn and put into practice the skills I teach and watching their expressions and stance take on a new level of confidence, my all-business mindset has softened. I have been blown away at how good it makes me feel to clearly see an adult or college-student grab onto their own "Get It Done" challenge because they feel empowered and ready for whatever situation is presented. I began to imagine the pay-it-forward potential for society as a whole after I worked with the first group of university athletes...this group gets a lot of bad press, but they (this group of kids!) actually wanted to know what is correct and polite! How exciting! At the risk of sounding too goofy, I have found a passion and I want my children to see me making a difference. Actually sounds sort of selfish when I put it like that!

A few details: I have "coached" individuals very unofficially for years, but completed my certification in February 2009. Since then, I have worked to "offer" my training and seminars to broader audiences with limited success. Many people don't know what they don't know! Admittedly, I am a horrible salesperson (so when I got a terribly written thank you note from a local bank, I had no idea how to tactfully turn that into a marketing tool) so there is an opportunity for improvement. While my social media presence is there, it, too needs improvement - website, for example, is nothing great.

Thank you again for this chance!
    Kate
  • This is an amazing opportunity! Thank you so much for offering it!

I have a business that I love and am ready to take the other part of my vision to the next level.

Reigniting Romance currently offers adult home parties that empower people to become comfortable and confident w/their sexuality and inspires them to reignite the romance in their lives. The next step for my business is to start my book and offer more educational classes & workshops in addition to parties.

My big picture goal is to create so many sexually comfortable and confident indivuduals that together we can bring change to how our children learn about sex. Thus creating a new generation with greater self confidence and awareness.

I would love the opportunity to be a part of this program. Thanks for your consideration.
  • From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of you who've submitted your entries. I hear your passion about what you want to achieve and also feel your pain for what's prevented you from getting out there. I will be sitting quietly this evening reading through every one of your entries to make the best determination about who the winner of this contest will be. Please know that regardless if you are chosen or not, the fact that you have stood up and shared your vision is huge and is really the first step in getting it done. Big hugs to all of you, Kim

Having read through all the people's reasons for wanting to win this fabulous opportunity, I almost did not write a thing. They all seem to be so focused and deserving of your assistance to give them that "push" to launch themselves into fantastic.

I currently run a business in the Entertainment Industry and have done so for 17 years. We have been reasonably successful, though not yet millionaires. The Industry has unique challenges that regular business advice does not apply to and we also live and work in Africa, which also comes with its own unique set of circumstances - but adaptation and creativity work wonders.

I would like to start my own business. I currently work from home, have a whole tribe of children and so far the work/personal life balance seems to be working out. My problem is not the "gee I don't know how" or the twenty thousand strategic steps to get things done. These things are sort of second nature - my problem is that I don't know what. I have done every course on the planet to find my passion, values, talents etc and I still am clueless as to what I want to do.

Perhaps you would be the magical person who would help me find my what, in order to launch my soul into the life that would transform me to the point that when I leave this planet, I can say I have nothing left behind, because I gave every ounce of everything that I have and am and lived my life with every drop of everything and all that is left to die is the shell of my body!
  • WHAT you want to get done--taking what i know to the next level. transforming my start into something that makes more, provides more for others.

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done-- i am starting from scratch with little or no help. I have no financial resources, so i am doing it all, one step at a time. i have a hard time keeping things on track and knowing what comes next. I need help in asking for sponsorships on the website and stepping beyond the comfort zone and figuring out what i need and then doing it.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done--the satisfaction is one thing. accomplishments just for myself. It will help all aspects of what i am trying to accomplish by keeping it up to a level of commitment and accomplishment that i need.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one).
I am starting up an online quilt group--first month being january. I have already filled up the year with designers with exclusive patterns and projects for the group along with others who are participating in other ways. The website will be up and going soon--- patchworkposse.com
Right now i have an online etsy store--- whosiesandwhatnots.etsy.com
    and a blog- whosies.blogspot.com

It has been fun to read others ideas, businesses, and problems. thanks for making us speak it :)
  • Seriously, I am not sure I can even compete with some of these people.

Kim, I will make this short and sweet: I read the whole "Get It Done Challenge" webpage. Every phrase, every testimonial, every word. I was gripped by the fact that there were so many statements that touched a nerve, gave me hope and frankly - challenged me.

I am a professional organizer and I am very good at organizing other people. I love what I do...seriously, LOVE WHAT I DO. I want to continue doing what I do but I need to take my four-year-old company to the next level. I am interested in workshops, seminars, webinars, info-products, podcasts, videoblogs, blogging (I do have a blog: downshiftingpos.blogspot.com) etc. I have all these great ideas but I need to get them 'organized' and I need to get it done!

In organizing, I don't work with anyone that doesn't want to work with me. Someone that is not opened to the process of making changes in order to simplify their life is not someone I can help. Downshifting means to voluntarily simplify your life. You need to come to the table of you own free will.

So I come to you of my own free will and I KNOW I would love to work with you to make my business bigger, better so I can continue do what I love to do.

Thanks for letting a lot of people share their stories.

    Regards,
    Margarita Ibbott

  • It would be a privilege and an honor to be accepted into your Get It Done Challenge!

I am a speech-language pathologist and would like to begin working with non-native English speakers who want to improve their accents for higher paying jobs, better professional & personal relationships, and greater self confidence in the work place. I’ve worked with a few clients locally but would like to reach outside the community to offer my services using the internet through individual telephone coaching and group programs. I’ve been “working” on accomplishing this goal for the past 2 years with little to no progress. I feel like I’m running on a treadmill going nowhere fast! I tend to get frustrated and put the plans aside for a few months eventually coming back to them. What I want to get done is to complete my own personal accent reduction program (I’ve got the foundation planned in my head and on paper), build my list, and develop my ezine. I see so many other entrepreneurs doing it, so why can’t I? I feel like I am having trouble getting it done for two reasons. Reason number one is that I’m not being held accountable by anyone. Reason number 2 is because I’m running my own business which is a traditional speech therapy practice. I seem to get caught up in all of the paperwork, insurance billing, etc. Hopefully, I could eventually back away from the traditional therapy and focus primarily on accent reduction. But, in all honesty, I’m completely overwhelmed and don’t know how to do it or where to start! The Get It Done Challenge will transform both my business and my life knowing that I’ve accomplished my biggest dream which is building a successful foreign accent reduction practice and knowing that I’ve helped one more person achieve the greatest gift of all which is successful communication.
  • First of all I want to say that this program was recommended to me by my friend Sarah, who is in the program now.

    · WHAT you want to get done, - I want to grow my biz/ ministry through several avenues, teleseminar series, live events and bundling these into info products.

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done,- Lack of financial resources as well as just not having the confidence to "get it done". I procrastinate due to worrying over finances. Or I get overwhelmed with all the many "pieces" that need to fit into place.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done, If I were able to get this done it would give me the boost of confidence I need to move forward as well as bring more financial freedom to my family.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one).

I have been in business since 2007. I have a ministry to girls and their moms called Beauty by Design Ministries. http://beautybydesignonline.co...

This is a splendid opportunity to take the time to focus and make my priority “IT!”

    WHAT?
I would love to get my coaching practice transformed into a “real” profitable business and into a profitable entity. Clients, friends, and fellow coaching students indicate I am a natural coach who allows individuals to see themselves in a new, bright, wonderful light.

    WHY?
    • Call it fear of not getting “IT” right – thereby, caught in a never ending learning cycle.
    • Call it fear of success – know I can succeed for others, but scared doing “IT” for myself and family.
    • Call it excuses: Work/family balance, time, money, fears described above, and the other dirty laundry lists of excuses.

    HOW?
For over twenty years, I have had a successful corporate career assisting employers to succeed and make hundreds of thousands of dollars. Today, I would like to follow my own personal passion that would allow me to earn a living helping others achieve success that affords me the opportunity to provide for my family without being tied to a windowless office. Getting my coaching practice underway would afford me the opportunity to establish my schedule and work tirelessly at an ambition I truly love. No longer would I feel torn between corporate meetings and timelines with missing out on activities with my two wonderful kids that are growing up too quickly.
I started coach training a year ago and have had a website parked for nearly a year. Additionally, a small group of clients continue to support me and encourage me to market my services on a wider scale while referring individuals to me. My intuition and encouragement from family and friends indicate this is the time to “Get IT Done.”

Thank you for affording me this wonderful opportunity to continue on this path to support my enduring passion towards a profit.

  • P.S. I need to mention here that I am a mom, and a full time caretaker for my two grandchildren, ages 5 and 7.
  • Hi Kim: When I saw your offer, I thought this is for me! I am a professional Life Coach and a Handwriting Expert. My current website, which needs serious revision, is www.creatingyourbestlife.net. I've been doing handwriting analysis for over 15 years and I'm quite good at it, in fact, I've worked with the FBI, law enforcement, major corporations, and headhunters. I dove into Life Coaching because I have a true desire to help people and see them achieve their goals, move them along, and see serious results. I've been life coaching for about a year.
WHAT: I'd like to bring my business up to the professional level it can be, implement my handwriting skills as a major tool in life coaching, and showcase my abilities in a professional and 'healthy business' format. I have a degree in Psychology, a background in law, medical and business administration. How do I put this all together?
WHY: The trouble I face is that my husband and I owned and developed a large housing development in Hilton Head, SC, and we owned a home in Florida over the past four years. I was back and forth from South Carolina to Florida on a monthly basis. That business folded in March 2009. Needless to say, the business took all my free time, and my own business suffered. I didn't know how to divide my time and dedicate the energy to my own business while helping him run our housing development. I did the interior design work, the design appointments (won a national award for my work), and generally oversaw the general day to day operations. Now that I have more time to devote to MY business, I'm at a loss as to where to begin again. I have clients, but not as many as I need.
HOW: This will change my life in ways I cannot imagine yet. I see myself as a speaker, writer, teacher and exemplary life coach. I have so much to offer; I can very accurately and definitively assess and analyse handwriting as an expert giving my clients insight that would take months or years to learn. This is a great starting point, but I need to utilize this talent and ability more dynamically. I am also a very good life coach with great listening skills, life background experience, and good sound judgment skills coupled with my degree and background in psychology. I need some help in bringing this all together in a dynamic, effective, and exciting package to my clients.
So, pick me, please pick me Kim! Together we can create a program and business that is unlike any other. I am the only Handwriting Expert (International Graphoanalysis Society) that is a certified professional coach (Coach Training Alliance), and the only certified professional coach that is a handwriting expert. I'm one of a kind and need some help bringing these talents and abilities to the public! Imagine the possibilities!
With gratitude and hope, I thank you Kim.
  • Hey Kim. I don't know if this applies to people already registered but it would be a huge help to me to receive this amazing program at no charge!!

    · WHAT you want to get done - flesh out my signature program for Girls Get Real, which will allow me to put a solid backbone behind the business and the amazing change I want to bring for girls in this age group (and their parents.)

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done - ideas have always been easy for me, I have TONS of them, implementation on the other hand... What has gotten in my way is lack of clarity for what the girls think they want, finding the balance/connection between what I want to teach them and what they want/think they need to learn, how to deliver my message in a way that is intriguing/interesting to them, fear of some how not being an expert or not being prepared. O how I could go on, but in a ntushell, all of this leads to self-doubt and procrastination, exactly what I want to steer them away from!!

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done - to accomplish this would be my jumping off point; it would give me a solid, organized story to tell; a confidence to share with colleges, parents and other advocates of 18-25 yo women that I have an answer to a problem for these young women. I know what I have to share is important, but with this program, I would be able to offer it as a solution to a challenge. I need to jump!!!

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one).
I began this adventure two years ago when I went to Coach training school and committed fully about a year ago when I left my corporate job after 20+ years with the same company. I want to help 18-25 yo girls know themselves fully, their authentic selves, and to then create a life that fully honors that true self. I also want to educate parents in new perspectives and ways they can support these kids to be true to themselves in every aspect of their lives. I have two websites. One is a brand new and not yet developed social networking site called www.girlsgetreal.com. My original website, where you can find out more about my core philosophies on life and coaching, is www.thesparkcoach.com.

I truly hope you will consider me for this amazing gift even though I have already invested in the program at full price. Maybe instead of the program at no charge you would considered additional support at no charge? No matter what, I am SO looking forward to Getting It Done with you over the next few weeks!!

    Thanks, and good night!!

    Shannon
  • A good friend and I have been working on starting our own natural soap and lotion business for about 6 months but we have been talking about this and kicking around ideas for about 3 years. We have started making soap and he's working on lotion formulations, this is the farthest we have been. It seems like we get started and then we seem to get stuck - we are trying to do this without borrowing any money so lately we get going and then an unexpected bill comes up and we have to put everything on the back burner. My friend is a chemist and we both worked for a natural skin care company in the past - we have a fantastic product, we have plenty of knowledge to make this a thriving business we just need help getting unstuck and moving forward and this will transform our business into a real business instead of just an dream that we talk about. In addition to transforming our business this will transform our lives and the lives of our families, it will create a better quality of life for all of us. We have both struggled to make ends meet since we are no longer working for the company we were in the past - we both have jobs but they don't compare in income or the challenging environment that we had experienced before. I have 17 year old twin daughters that are looking at colleges and trying to figure out what they what to be when they grow up and for me this would be helping me be a positive role model for them and to be able to show them that they can do whatever they decide to do - that would be absolutely priceless!!! Thank you so much for this generous offer!!
  • Wow...this is great...it would be just what I need right now. I seem to be back peddling and not getting anywhere.

I desperately need to get Women of Today running on Autopilot with systems in place. I have good intentions but the days just seem to fly by and little things keep getting in the way. Without this done my life is chaos. I have a goat farm and my own business to run as well. Help!
  • Becky
I would love the opportunity to learn all I can to get myself going once and for all! I would love to work from home in order to home school my son. I work outside the home and also do some bookkeeping at home that needs more clients. I also would like to increase my online sales (via craigslist.com and ebay). My biggest detrailer is myself! I get easily distracted by the 100's of things single parenthood brings. It is easier to kick back after work than tackle housework, yard work, etc. I could use the motivation to keep going. I always start out with the best intentions but never finish my tasks. I'm fed up with my waxing and waning!
Thank you for offering your expertise for those of us who want to strive for a better life for ourselves and our family.
  • LynnMarie
I'm hoping to win the Get It Done Challenge. I have been unemployed since March 2008 and would love to get my business ideas in motion so I can be my own boss and create my own financial future. I haven't been able to find and/or afford good help in starting my business, so this would be a great start for me. Being a single parent to a child on the autism spectrum, it's important for me to be able to be my own boss and create an income stream to support both of us. Thank you for offering this!
  • ElmCityParent.com is an online guide that centralized resources for families in New Haven County. It connects families with the businesses that serve them. The site launched just over a year ago.

I want to take my business to the next level. I have a ton of ideas, but tend to think it to death and never "get it done". Many of the ideas are time sensitive and then the opportunity passes. I believe in my business and the idea that it helps both families as well as the businesses that advertise with us. I want my site to be the go to resource for families here.

    · WHAT you want to get done
Establish my coaching/consulting business: set up website, devise marketing plan, put systems in place to keep the sales and marketing going daily/weekly/monthly, create workshops and other products that support the business, create a schedule for the coming year to keep focused, build in time for strategy review and business planning throughout the year.

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done,
There is so much to do, I make a bit of progress and then become mired in perfectionist thinking, uncertainty and other distractions. My corporate background is a help and a hindrance. I lose focus, become unclear of the original vision and distracted by all the other ideas that fight for space in my head and on my schedule.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done,
A couple of years ago, emerging from a splintering emotional challenge and getting the help needed to navigate that dark period, I began riding a wave of extraordinary creativity and yes, the proverbial new lease on life. Sensing that this new confidence and well-being would be fleeting unless I grabbed and held on with both hands, I began researching my "what's next?". The old way of living my life wasn't going to work any longer. I intend to retain the hold I have on my purpose and have absolute confidence that work and living are intertwining elements. I'm inspired to share and help other businesses and people grow which will help me transform my own life by infusing everything I do with a spirit of giving and gratitude for all that I've been given and inspired by throughout my life.

My original plan was to build my business slowly until I was laid off last January. I've used the time wisely to finish some educational requirements and now I'm ready to 'open the shop', so to speak. Participating in this program would help me stay focused and accountable. I would love to learn a great system that can be used over and over again because I have so many great ideas that need traction.

I would love this opportunity. I am a single mom homeschooling my daughter. I have a desire to have a successful affiliate marketing business. I desire to take care of my daughter and being home to homeschool her. I would love to have the accountability to take action, and the support.
I do not have the support of family and friends. They do not believe that it can be done ,to have a successful online business. I really believe I can do this, but fear and doubt creep in with their friend perfectionism. I would really love this opportunity. Thank you
  • Hi Kim,
I love what you have to offer and I need it! I am owner operator of a Curves franchise and am starting a coaching business to complement my wellness network marketing business www.trumpnetwork.com/lscott

I need a new website and squeeze page, video, newletter you name it, I have ideas but need to chuck it down and get it done. I would love your help and to be able to share your service with those I work with.
    Thank you,

  • Kim,

Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in your Get It Done Challenge. My goal is to launch my business, Virtual Contact Group for more reasons than just a self-fulfilling prophecy. I am starting with humble beginnings and as so many entrepreneurs, a very limited budget. Starting up on a shoestring budget definitely has its challenges and I believe is the number one reason why my plan is just trickling along. Once I have accomplished at least the launch, it will be a proud moment because I know it will change lives. This business idea was born out of the need to give back. I wanted to start a company that would help employ displaced women. Virtual Contact Group is a team of Virtual Assistants who provide administrative and customer support to Entrepreneurs. We are a startup company; however, our staff has over 20 years of combined experience in customer service and administrative services. I know that your 'so needed' program can help take this company to the next level. Thanks.
  • I would love to start a blog for my quantum biofeedback business. I seem to just be having trouble getting it done because it seems like a daunting process (learn the software, set it up, write frequently). By NOT having it done, I'm worried I'm missing out on connecting with my target market and increasing my client base. So it would be a huge relief and accomplishment to get this done!

Planet BioScan has been in business for almost two years now. As I mentioned, it is a quantum biofeedback alternative health practice. In less than 5 minutes, our FDA approved device scans over 10,000 different things in the body - looking for blockages and stressors. The remainder of a session (usually 1-2 hours) is spent removing the blockages and helping the client take action to improve his/her life.
  • WHAT we want to get done is a membership driven, online business for banjo, guitar, fiddle and bass lessons taught by my husband. (Who doesn't have time or a place to teach individual lessons right now.) He's really excited about the idea and is smiling more these days.

    · WHY we have been having trouble getting it done is that we just don't know how or what we need to do. We have ideas, some knowledge, but don't know how to protect creative material, business name, and such. This is brand new and we'd like it to be up correctly, leagally and generating income quickly. We feel so "out there" and would really appreciate help in defining the steps, resources needed, and getting them in order so progress can be made! Help, please!

    · Why it will transform our lives to get it done is that it will give us a business to generate income for us and give my husband an outlet to get paid the money he deserves for his God-given talent. He's an amazing musician and artist who has much to offer. We have most of what we need to do this now, just not the know how. Our ultimate goal in this venture is to provide an alternate income for me and my husband that will free him from his J-O-B and allow him to do what he really loves - creating! Also, this is a business that we can do from anywhere we have computer access. We have aging parents three hours from us and it would be a major league blessing if we could be with them when they need us without worrying about money, how we'll get our work done, and all the cares that a J-O-B would keep us from addressing. We have an urgent need to bring in more cash, and iit would be wonderful to be debt free as the business grows!!!... Read More

    · We are at the start-up point, but envision offering weekly music lessons on the instrument of choice based on membership. Members will receive weekly tips, and a monthly newsletter for addtional information on instrument care, resources, and such. We would like to expand it to sales of items with logo, and my husband's drawings. Together we can do a great business with his talents and my increasing knowledge of online business. Creating wealth has been a dream of ours for many years, and now is the best opportunity ever! If we knew what to do and how to get there, nothing can stop us! Please pick me for this spot. The information you will share is invaluable to us at this time. (business name and website are being planned now)

Thank you, Kim, for the awesome opportunity to win a spot in your GET IT DONE CHALLENGE!!!! Looking forward to it! Cheers!
  • Rosalind Myer
Are you kidding I would love the oppertunity to learn some more information that can kick my butt into gear- this is awsome!!
  • Thank you, Kim, for offering the possibility to win a spot in your upcoming training! Here are my answers and comments to your questions.

What do I want to get done?

I want to get an effective, coherent and dynamic marketing scheme set up that I feel confident using and that reflects my personality and ability to successfully help realtors market their listings by using my professional home staging services.

I am having trouble getting it done because:

    -- I have never owned or run a business before and this one is in a totally new field for me;
    -- I am overwhelmed with so many tasks and things to learn;
    -- I am overwhelmed with the huge selection of choices and people available to help new entrepreneurs and do not know who to choose if needed;
    -- Even though my business was featured in a local newspaper, in a training company newsletter, and my first staging was amazingly successful, I still do not know how to market all that to my advantage;
    -- I am not comfortable with social media, do not know how to organize my time using it, would love to learn more about it so I don't have so much trouble using it;
    -- I am resisting big time contacting real estate agents;
    -- I don't feel that I know what I am doing and as a result my easy and optimistic self-confidence that I have always had in the past is not often present;
    -- I feel as if I am going it all alone even though I am a member of industry associations and in contact with other home stagers;
    -- I have too much going on with running a business and taking interior design classes at the same time;
-- I question whether or not this is what my heart desires.

How will it transform my business and life to get it done?

When I will have overcome the obstacles above my business will be transformed with a real business model, a structure and organization, a confident owner, and an influx of customers and business as a result.
My life will be transformed with renewed self-confidence, income, work-life balance and more serenity.

    Description of my business.

I have started a business partnering with Realtors and Home Sellers to prepare property for resale by offering professional home staging services. My first job was staging a vacant townhouse that had been listed for over 2 months without any offers. 3 days after the first open house once I staged it, it had an offer and was in escrow within the following week. I have had a business license since June 2009 but still feel as if I have not officially 'launched' my business. My website is www.artandsoulhomestaging.com

Many thanks, Kim! It would be a wonderful gift to win a spot in the "Get It Done Challenge."

    Warm regards,
    Debby Dutilh
  • I would love to know how to "Get It Done!" Cheers, Kim
  • Hi Kim,

I'm so excited to have found you and your website.

I'm a mom of 3 who has gone through some major discoveries in the past few months and is ready to...finally...get things done! I have spent the last few years in "survival mode" struggling with several ideas for online marketing and various projects in progress which have left me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and in a plateau with my direct sales business.

Through some coaching and medical guidance I recently learned that I have ADD. At first, I was in grief focusing on all the unsuccessful and wasted opportunities I've had because of projects and ideas that I'd left un-done and incomplete. I was punishing myself and felt like I'd wasted the first 35 years of my life, not living up to my potential.

Fortunately, I was able to shift my thinking to realize that I've been given a huge gift of enlightenment! I've learned to do so many things in my life, like being a great wife and mom, leading 2 Girl Scout troops, even becoming a student pilot; that I have NO doubt that I can learn how to Get "It" Done!

I want to create an online business that teaches and empowers women to find the right home-based business to fit their lives so that they can stay home with their kids like I've done for the past 11+ years. I also want to create an online business that educates direct sales professionals on internet business building techniques that are professional, high integrity, and low hype.

My challenge is knowing how to break these big goals down into manageable steps. I seem to be working on scattered "pieces" of the project but everything is in various stages of completion. I want to learn how to prioritize them and get them all done so I can tie them together into a marketing system that is generating traffic and creating income.

I know that I have the knowledge and gifts that will benefit many other women! I can relate the feeling of success I will have in helping others succeed to what it feels like when I see my children reach a milestone, and when I see the women on my direct sales team reach their personal goals.

It is my immediate dream to replace my husband's income so that he can end his long commute and stressful job, and we can be a family with 2 parents at home. It is my ultimate dream to impact the lives of thousands of other women, and help them achieve their goals and dreams, whatever they may be.

Pick me please! :) I'm eager, ready, and I'll be your BEST student!

    Scout's Honor!

I have been an independent consultant with Arbonne for 3 years.
I am in qualification for the next level of management, and want to finish that this month, and head for VP ASAP.
A mother of 10 children, and homeschooling 8 of them is my biggest obstacle.
How can my life be transformed by getting it all done? Give More, Help More!!
  • I would like to get this website/blog off the ground and create useful information to help people find their real dream and their true purpose and to implement those goals. I'd also like to get back to training my two horses. My big hairy goal is to be able to support myself without the need of a W-2 job. I also have a website about helping people manage their horse farms. This one is just barely off the ground too.

I am struggling moving forward with this because I just had a baby (three months old) and along with my three-year old I am very busy with them. In addition I work full time for an insurance company. My husband is a farmer and currently is in the field 16 hours/day getting the crops out. Also we have a horse farm and I teach riding lessons. Finally, on my lunch hour nearly every day I transport my 3-year old from preschool to the babysitter.

By reaching the goal of creating an income-producing website, 1) I will be able to help others reach for their dreams, 2) I will be able to eliminate my need for a 8-5 job which will 3) provide the freedom I value to be able to chose to be there for my kids and to enjoy seeing them grow up.
  • Kim - what don't I want to get done? I want to be more organized, less distracted and more accomplished. I have a problem keeping motivated and sustaining my "groove". I get discouraged and wonder what I'm doing wrong in making me and my product shine. I don't have a doubt as to what a great product I have, its getting it to the next level. How can it transform my business as well as my life??? In ways that I can only imagine! I want to be THE person to go to before even the big box stores, because they not only love my product, but they love to come back to me again and again and again!

I would love to be considered for the one free open spot in your program - I think - actually I KNOW - it's just what I need!!

What I need to Get Done is to take the steps of execution/moving into the "action plan" of my business-to-be. I have researched, thought, retreated with myself and know what action steps I need to take, but getting to actually stepping off into the unknown and being accountable for results is holding me back. Completing the Business Plan and getting my website and blog up and running are two of those first steps on the (long) list.

As a former successful business owner, I know what it takes and I'm ready for the challenge. But somehow, since receiving a steady paycheck from my employers and clients over the last decade, I've lost my ability to take risks and fear has somehow crept into my heart and my head. Fear of not being good enough, now knowing enough, not having anything others want/need/see value in. With over 25 years of working experience, I know that isn't necessarily true, but tell that to my consciousness!

What I do know to be true and really believe so deeply is that I am meant to be successful in a business of my own. I do have knowledge of value and I know others could benefit tremendously from that which I dare to share. I need to land on a solid community (like MetroMoms) that I can start to rely on as well as contribute to instead of roaming from online consultant to online consultant (all worthy).

My website, as noted above, is not live. The knowledge I plan to share will help people with real Life Skills - Making It Easier To Live Your Best Life. I will also be working with small business owners and managers on systems they can use to Live Their Best Work Life. You can bet that mine will be a wonderful success story for the Get It Done Challenge and Program in the very near future!!!

I appreciate your consideration and would love to join this amazing network of creative, commmitted, dedicated and authentic group of people in your program where we can all learn from and teach each other!
  • WHAT: I have a personal blog that has never gotten off the ground. I spend so much time on my business that my blog lacks any attention. I would like to expand the blog and build it into an affiliate marketing/personal musing type of an adventure.

WHY: I have had trouble getting it started (beyond the first post) as I have so many different ideas, I don't know which direction to go. I struggle with maintaining my authenticity without giving away too much personal/business information. I want to be real without putting my family/business safety at risk. I also struggle with finding time to build it to what I want it to be without taking time away from what my main business needs are.

HOW: We are getting our house ready to put on the market and will soon be moving to Seattle - it's such a crazy time, but I sincerely want to document this big adventure and share it with others so I need to get on the wagon as soon as possible! In addition, my business website is finally relaunching so the long struggle to work with our website development firm (orig. launch date was June) has worn on my nerves and I know that if I push through, I'll have something to look forward to achieving everyday. So, it's a personal goal and a supplemental financial goal to 'get it done' to help offset the long overdue relaunch of my main business. With 7 years of online business marketing, I know I have wisdom to share that can help others succeed, so that is also a big motivator for me to get it going, too.
  • WHAT you want to get done - develop a service model that maximizes our creative services and creates some passive income

    · WHY you have been having trouble getting it done - too busy working on non-creative tasks that do however pay the bills, consumed with work by a single very demanding client

  • You can win a spot in the Get It Done Challenge by sharing (through a comment):

    · WHAT you want to get done: I want to launch my writing and speaking career.

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done: I will be living my life on purpose and be able to spend more time with my husband and children. I want to be a good example for my children in that they too can live their dreams because all things are possible if you believe in God and yourself.

    · And a few details like a brief description of your business, how long you’ve been in business, and your website (if you have one): The DAWN Network Group is a consulting business focusing on business, motivation, and lifestyle. I am ready for the next level.

  • Hi, I am very interested in winning a spot in your training! I started my on line business selling natural cosmetics while I was getting my master's degree in psychology. I decided after the first semester that I wanted to finish it, but my focus had definately shifted. Needless to say, it was hard starting a business while dealing with school full-time. Now that I'm done with school, I'm finally getting the ball rolling and implementing, but I still often find it hard to know which of all the many things I need to do is the priority and which will bring the most value and be the best investment of my time. The web site listed above a page to join my newsletter and receive free gifts. You can check out the home page and products at www.BotanicBoutique.com.
    Thank you for your consideration!

  • I want to get a personal website built, an offer page, build a list and blog; build traffic and make $200,000 in retail sales for 2010.

I have been having trouble getting this done for several reasons; I don't know how to build it or what it should look like, nor do I have the systems in place to make this work and I procrastinate because I want it to be/look perfect the first time.

I want and need to create a home-based business; my current job may be coming to an end and I may be looking at unemployment or getting a job where I'll have to commute or travel. I'm really tired of someone else controlling how much I make and telling me when, where and how to do my job.

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to be a Mary Kay consultant through the traditional means (parties & facials) and I know there has to be a better way then belly-to-belly sales. I have been trying to make this work for me for over 11 years and I'm tired of doing it the company way and I know that I can make this work my way; and in a loving, caring and integrity based way...so that I'm not stealing business away from my other established sisters in Mary Kay. The website is the canned Mary Kay website (www.MaryKay.com/RitaCrawford) and I'd like to build my own systems - website, blog, sales page - to drive business to my Mary Kay website or I'm open to exploring other ideas for the sales portion of the business.

Thank you for the opportunity to share and the opportunity of a chance to participate in your program.

    Blessings....Rita Crawford

I worked my way up in corporate America from a clerk to a partner based upon my creativity and logic. Since leaving the workforce and raising a family I have had a million moneymaking ideas, but I don't know how to begin. I don't have a support network and get so bogged down by all the technology that I don't get very far. I'm itching to build a business, but can't decide which idea to pursue for fear that I'll choose the wrong one. Oddly enough I was a very strong leader, but feel like I've lost all my oomph. I would love to be part of your program, but it's not in our finances right now. I know I can be successful with a little coaching and support. If I am lucky enough to win I look forward to rebuilding my self confidence and giving back to society. Thanks!
  • I'm a full-time engineer (hopefully I won't lose my job), but really want to get my business off the ground. I've been selling on Etsy for a little over a year, but with my job full-time it just feels like it's taking too long to get anywhere. I'm often busy & then tired to do a whole lot of business planning, so I end up just working on designs (which is theraputic and fun!) I'm really not that far along in making this a "real" business so I want to first get my business plan done so I can finally know where I'm going. I need to get my own website, enough products designed to populate it with, and a marketing plan to really bring in the business.

I'm also torn between doing wedding invitations & personal stationery only, stationery + children's posters/art prints, and just children's decor with prints + textiles + crafts, etc. I have so many ideas I don't know how to sort through them all & analyze which is the best to go after & will give the most return with my limited time.

So basically my problem is inefficiency, procrastination, indecisiveness, and a time crunch! I hope winning your giveaway will give me the tools to make the decisions and set myself on the right path to finally making a real business. I know it'll be hard work, which I don't mind! I just want to know what to work hard & what matters so I can really achieve something.
  • At 62, 24 Is too long to not "Get It Done". No age is too late to start out as a small business owner. In 1985 I did just that by setting out to help local, traditional small business owners "Learn & Do" the business basics of small business success.

I discovered that helping people put together a Business Plan was a bit overwhelming and Business Education was too time-consuming. So, I combined the two into The Profit Puzzle ( http://www.profitpuzzle.com ) - a workshop/workbook approach combining education and business planning. Back in '85 technology didn't provide the digital ease of today's Internet to Get It Done.

I did experience some success going the Chamber of Commerce route. I also partnered with Southern California Edison, the state’s largest utility company. They branded, printed and distributed 25,000 plus copies of The Profit Puzzle Workbook and Software. Success Yes!

But, over time I let The Profit Puzzle languish. Now, it's time to Get It Done with the core elements of The Profit Puzzle using today's digital options.

I suppose I lack progress to-date for a couple of reasons: one, prior disappointments over long period of time; two, a huge tendency to be a person with great ideas subjected to a process thinkers approach; three, believing there is plenty of time left to get it done.

Well, at 62, time is running short. I'm getting ready to celebrate 40 years of marriage with my wife whose patience needs to be rewarded. 24 years is long enough to vet The Profit Puzzle as a viable concept. And, the Lord, long ago confirmed my passion to help small business owners on a worldwide basis succeed as Blessed.

Certainly, I'd like to be that "one lucky entrepreneur" but just putting my thoughts, goals and challenge in writing may be a bigger "win" regardless of being the "winner” – thanks for the opportunity.

Kim, I so admire what you're doing and the "get it done" mentality. I listed to your October call and was truly inspired. I am currently a full-time outside the home working mom with two kiddos at home. I am desperately wanting to work from home to be available for my kids, especially my youngest who has a form of muscular dystrophy. I have a background in office admin, executive assistant and marketing/pr. I am intersted in pursuing the Virtual Author Assistant field - something I have the background and literary love to do a great job.

My challenge - figuring out how to get it started while still working fulltime. I cannot quit my job right now. My husband was out of work for 1 1/2 years and we are still recovering from that financial blow (another reason I want to work for myself and not depend on others). I need a "get it done" plan to help me jumpstart my new career. Thanks Kim for this great opportunity!

    Hello Kim,

Thanks for this opportunity! I heard your call and was inspired by all that you wanted to help us with. I had just signed up for SHINE (Which was great wasn't it? We actually met very briefly.). SHINE had used all the educational funds I had left. So why would I like to be involved with the Get it Done Challenge? Let me explain:

First off, my business needs to get off the ground. It is a wonderful and meaningful business but it is not helping anyone at this time. That is the "what" I am struggling with. I have the components scattered everywhere and need some help with clarity and focus.

"Why" am I having trouble getting this all done? I am in overwhelm and need to focus on one thing at a time. I start on one project and remember another and start on that and then another project presents itself and I devote attention to that one and so on and so on. Being accountable to someone other than family is key for me.

Having my business up, running and successful will change both my personal and professional life. I have something of value to share and want to change the lives of women. My company, Decide Yourself Weight Loss Mindset, is a company that assists women in changing their negative self image into an empowering one. I assist women in changing their mindsets about diets, working out, weight loss and their health in general. Mindset is the most important and most neglected issue in the weight loss industry. I cannot think of a better thing to do than help women choose joy on their journey to health and leave the dread and despair behind!

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to working with you!

    Joyfully,

    Kerry Patterson Capps ~
  • WOW - what an amazing and wonderful opportunity for one lucky person!

I'd like to enter the contest with a short story.

I left the corporate world 19 months ago to stay home with my beautiful new daughter. Now, I am a WAHM to two beautiful baby girls under 2. I have had a the very fortunate opportunity to work from home, as an independent contractor doing sales copywriting, marketing and ghostwriting. Recently, I have decided to officially create my business as an LLC. I have wonderful clients that are supporting me in this decision and we have some amazing things planned for 2010. I also just started a secondary business in direct sales. Both businesses are doing well, and I couldn't be more pleased.

My challenge is actually prioritizing my own business goals to be more in the moment with my children. As I shared with you on Twitter, I have been impressed by your success and ability to get it ALL done while still being there for your children. I need help prioritizing to be more in the moment for them. After all, this is all for them. However, I know that I am the most important thing for them. And money, things and "success" is nothing compared to their time with me.

I know this is a common challenge, but it's odd to me that I can do these things for my clients, help them breakdown their goals and accomplish them in steps. However, when it comes to my personal and professional goals, I need help. I know I'm in good company - even coaches need coaches! :)

I am committed to working with you at some point, if not as part of this challenge then in the future. :) I have referred your services to many as I believe in your message and method. I think you are the positive role model I want and need to help me be a successful mom and business woman.

For the most part, I define success differently these days. To me, success is having happy and healthy children first. Then, a profitable business that helps me provide for them today and in the future. Nonetheless, I think I can do a better job at both. I was inspired by your call last month and have shared with many.

I look forward to working with you soon!
  • I own an interior redesign company that focuses on utilizing what my clients already own. It's actually "green" design, as it breaths new life in items that have been around the house for a long time. Any hoo...I started Vesna in 1998 - with only a biz card. My sister and I only offered decorating painting and custom fabric treatments, we worked out of a room in my parents attic. We sorta closed up shop in 2002, and I restarted Vesna in 2006, but now I need to get on the social networking bandwagon, but I'm overwhelmed with what I "perceive" it involves.... scary technical stuff, and that it will take a very very long time for me to figure out. However, I really believe that if I can start marketing my idea's and really put myself out there, I'll gain more clients who discover they really need and want my brand of decorating assistance. Personally, I will feel challenged and overcome my fear of the unknown.... blogging, facebook, tweets, etc.... yikes!!! it 's all a foreign language to me.... help.
  • Hi Kim,
I have been waiting for years to launch my own home staging and redesign business. Well, I finally did it late September - A New View Staging and Redesign, LLC. I jumped in and talked to everyone I knew. I created a fan page on Facebook, and convinced a friend to allow us to stage his home. The results were phenomenal. He had over 25 showings in a week and an offer on day 8. Great. So I know I can do a good job.

However the next step is not getting done. What I really need to do is get realtors to rely on me, and call me for every new listing they get. I sent out a batch of 50 emails to realtors, and followed up with a few (3). I scheduled meetings with them, and it went fine.

I can't seem to get past this point, though. I keep networking, attending different gatherings/functions, etc. and know that I need to ask for what I want. However, making the follow up calls and getting the 'sale' doesn't happen.

In addition, I have several other ways I could market my business (and marketing is my background) but I just can't seem to get them done. I am really good at making excuses. Truth is, I am so afraid of failure that I feel a bit paralyzed.

What ideas do you have for getting it done when you know that you are afraid and just never seem to get to doing what needs to be done? I'm certain my fear is transparent, and I've recently backed away from calling or pursuing the business! I feel really stuck and would love some help! Interestingly, I see this same pattern of behavior throughout my life. Even in writing this, I have put off getting things done. Think I could benefit from your class? :) Thanks for doing what you do! Best of luck. Theresa
  • What: I need to get the outline for The Successful Geek Core Book completed.
Why: I have too many business ventures going at once.
How: It will be the template for all the products I create for The Successful Geek and will quantum leap that business. I can even create my coaching program from it.

I have been wanting to start a photography business for years. I kept on putting bits and pieces together to help me build a good business. I bought the books on how to do it. I joined the photography forums to help me out. I purchased the audiotapes. I went to conferences.

    Nothing happened.

In June, I got laid off from my marketing job of over ten years. What a perfect opportunity to start my business!

So in November, where am I? With a lot less money. I keep on buying stuff, but not doing.

I need to do. I can only survive on my rapidly depleting funds for a little bit longer. My procrastination has depressed me. It is impacting my family as well. Instead of being super mum, doing all these wonderful SAHM stuff, I'm feeling guilty all the time. So I'm not getting anything done on either front.

It will transform my life by making me happy. Proud. Creative. And well fed.

It will transform my family's life by making them happy. Proud of me. Surrounded by creativity. And well fed.

    Thanks. :)
  • I'd like to launch a successful part time Mary Kay business as an Independent Sales Consultant. Time management, finances and the demands of 2 jobs, a daughter and single motherhood are my biggest challenges. I'd love to be a strong independent businesswoman without the need to rely upon(sporadic, at best)child support to provide a great life for my daughter and myself. I've been a MK Consultant before, and really want(and need!) to make it work this time. I'd love to show my dauighter that anything is possible if you put your mind and heart into it!
  • WHAT you want to get done:
-- I want to reach Senior Director in my business.

WHY you have been having trouble getting it done:
-- Simply, the reason why I have troubel getting it done is the fact that I allow myself to get distracted, overcommit myself to 1,000 things, and don't treat it like a business. In the past 2 months, I have said to myself that I will commit and begin to work more diligently on my business, focus on different aspects of my business such as marketing, word of mouth, etc. Just last month, I achieved the goal of resetting my pacesetter clock with the company, which puts me on track to reach Senior in 6 months with so many added bonuses. That is what also prompted me to put myself in a position to be held accountable - such as the Get It Done Challenge...

I need to be held accountable and this would be a perfect challenge for me!!

    · HOW it will transform your business and/or life to get it done
-- It would transform my life because I have been building this business at a snails pace for too long, always using the excuse that my kids are young and I am enjoying them! :) Great excuse, but it is not fun to wach others fly by as I remain at the same status for a few years! It will transform my life because I will prove to my children that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. I have no doubt that I can achieve this goal, I just let myself get way TOO off track when it comes to being my own boss!!

Thanks so much for this opportunity to be entered into the free spot!

  • I would love to win the free enter to your Get It Done Challenge. I an financial tapped out due to set up costs for my web site. Would love to learn from you. I have a great fondation but I really need to get my site making money. Please choose to help me.
  • I would love to get my strategic business plan completed. When I started WeParent, it was all from the heart. And, since I've launched, I haven't been able to just sit down to focus on stepping back from the day-to-day activities and ponder (and document) the big picture in a way that is strategic and actionable. So, I'd love to have an opportunity to do that through the "Get It Done Challenge." Many opportunities are coming my way, and I want to be able to leverage them in ways that grow the business, further our mission...and don't leave me exhausted and good for no one. So, please pick me!

    Hello, thanks for offering this!
  • Rebecca Johnson
    Hi Kim:

Wow, thank you for the opportunity to enter this great contest. I'll answer your questions as concisely [and quickly] as possible!

What do I want to get done? I want to complete my redesign of my current website [www.AriseShineJewelry.com], set up a blog, set up Facebook for my business page [once my new site is ready], establish a way to give back to great causes with certain product on my website and learn how to utilize technology in order to get my message out to others. I also want to develop great business relationships with other entrepreneurs and share my experiences with them and learn from their experiences as well.

Why have I had trouble getting it done? Well, I've definitely listened to all the free webinars, joined groups, listened to recordings, read books, periodicals and marketing publications to educate myself---and I even went so far as to "hire" a Virtual Assistant so that I could outsource the work I needed done on my new website. Needless to say, what I had hoped would be a great experience and the beginning of building trust that someone else can do outsourced work for me, unfortunately, was not my experience.

Also, my time is divided at this point in my business because I am working full time to put money back into my business so that I can learn what I need to do in order to help with my projects so that I can be successful. I have so many things that are very time sensitive and critical now for the relaunch/redesign of my website and understanding my target market. I have many of the pieces of the puzzle---now I just need clarification in my direction and method in getting to the goal so that I can be a success! :) [The glass is half-full!!]

How will this transform my life and my business? I can write a book about this, but I won't :) . I would like to tell you that this will not only affect and transform my life completely, positively and forevermore, but it will have a rippling affect with my family and friends. It will allow me to reach my goals and experience the success that I know is there! I not only want to transform my life, but I want to be a catalyst for others that I come in contact with on a daily basis. I think that being a part of your challenge will equip me with the knowledge, encouragement and training that I need to move forward with my business and my life.

Thank you again for the opportunity to enter the contest! Have a great day, Rebecca
